Message You argue that the presence of the RHD cars is increasing the demand for the LHD cars. That assertion ignores the fact that the RHD cars increase the total supply available in Canada, while overall demand is likely static, (or perhaps declining). In other words some "fairlady" buyers purchased RHD instead of LHD.

Bottom line (and ECON 101), when supply increases and demand is static or declining, price goes down.

Now let's skip ahead 10 years - same question: What will happen to supply and demand between now and then? Arguably both supply and demand are falling over time, so the question becomes which is dropping faster? I don't profess to know the answer to that question, but I would hazard a guess that supply will exceed demand for the foreseeable future and prices will continue to fall in general terms. (Why? The passage of time causes attrition both supply and demand).

That said, there will likely always be that guy (older, wealthier, etc) that is "the buyer" for "that specific car" regardless of the overall market.
